Terabai..

this is 'Terabai' or its common name called as Worrior Shield..ukiran terabai boleh diukir dalam pelbagai bentuk..bagi kaum iban,ukiran 'antu engkeramba' adalah yang paling famous kerana ia dikatakan dapat memberikan perlindungan kepada tuannya serta dapat menolong dalam peperangan suatu masa dahulu..terabai boleh dibuat dengan saiz yang besar,sederhana besar ataupun kecil..bentuknya pula boleh dibuat berdasarkan kreativiti anda sendiri..dulu,ukiran terabai juga menjadi kebanggaan kaum iban..pembuatan terabai bukan la senang..ia memerlukan ketelitian yang tinggi..ukiran yang halus & ketekunan dalam mengukir coraknya..terabai diperbuat daripada kayu dan hanya mempunyai satu jenis warna sahaja mengikut kesukaan tuannya..sekarang,terabai boleh dilihat dengan pelbagai jenis warna..

jika pada suatu masa dahulu,terabai digunakan untuk melindungi diri daripada serangan pihak musuh semasa peperangan..namun sekarang,kita boleh lihat terabai telah menjadi barang perhiasan bukan sahaja oleh kaum iban tetapi ramai lagi kaum-kaum lain yang dah mula menyukai keunikan terabai ini..

my grandfather is a terabai maker..he already made a lot of terabai in any sizes..he is full of knowledge and talent to make terabai and a lot of ibanese stuff that made from wood such as swords,blowpipe and much more..im proud of my grandfather..

Pua Kumbu..

pua kumbu terkenal di kalangan orang iban di Sarawak..my mom also a pua kumbu maker..pua kumbu mempunyai banyak motif corak..bagi kaum iban,kami lebih kepada motif 'engkeramba',mean monster/ghost..tapi,zaman sekarang banyak motif flora & fauna digunakan..dulu,cara pembuatan pua kumbu adalah sangat susah & memenatkan..tapi sekarang,terdapat alternatif lain yang digunakan untuk membuat pua kumbu iaitu cara printing/cop..jika dulu,wanita kaum iban akan memperuntukkan masa sehingga berminggu-minggu menyiapkan sehelai pua kumbu,sekarang hanya mengambil masa beberapa jam/hari sahaja..pua kumbu dulu diperbuat daripada cotton wool..tapi sekarang tidak lagi,kerana cara printing/cop telah digunakan yang hanya menggunakan warna pilihan sahaja..

suatu masa dahulu,pua kumbu mempunyai banyak fungsi kepada kaum iban di Sarawak..ia digunakan oleh 'manang' bermaksud Dukun untuk upacara perubatan..ia juga digunakan untuk 'betipas' bermaksud menghalau bagi menyembuhkan sesuatu penyakit pada orang..selain itu,ia juga digunakan dalam upacara kematian untuk membuat 'sapat' bermaksud dinding untuk orang yang telah meninggal..bagi kaum iban,semangat padi adalah semangat yang perlu dijaga untuk mendapatkan berkat..bila anak padi telah tumbuh dan sedia untuk ditanam,kaum iban akan mendukung anak padi yang disimpan di dalam pua kumbu dari tanah hingga la ke rumah panjang..semangat padi akan di'gawai'kan sebelum di tanam di sawah..selain itu juga,pua kumbu mempunyai banyak lagi kegunaan lain..sekarang,pua kumbu terkenal sebagai fesyen terkini di kalangan pereka fesyen moden..

A Moment..

tentu korang pernah merasa bagaimana rasanya bila pertama kali menjejakkan kaki di tempat yang belum pernah anda kunjungi..bagi aku,it's a wonderfull moment that i'll never forget & a moment that i'll take as an experince..well..this is a moment that i'll share with you..



i spent a few minutes at Pantai Punang,Lawas,Sarawak to experince the sunset..i can't wait for the moment..



while i'm waiting for the sunset,aku ambik peluang la posing puas-puas dulu..hehe..

aku main-main dengan air pantai yang berombak kecik je..tak besar..teringin rasanya nak terjun je ke dalam air tu,menikmati ombak-ombak kecil..hehe..

haaa....kini hampir tiba masanya yang dinanti-nantikan..hehe..nampaknya apa yang kat belakang aku tu..??cun jugak cousin aku ni jadi photographer ek..hehe..wyen,after this you change your profession..hehe..

sambil tu,aku teruskan jugak perjuangan aku untuk berposing sakan..hehe..

well...and finally..this is the moment that i'd been waiting..hehe..beautiful sunset at Pantai Punang,Lawas,Sarawak..

"for a moment like this,some people search for a life time..for a moment like this,some people search forever.."hehe..even aku hanya sekejap je kat Lawas,but i grabbed all the opportunities yang ada depan mata..i also went to sipitang all the way to Sabah..hehe..adventure rite..

wish i can come again next time..Goodbye Lawas..Goodbye Sabah..

suatu ketika di K.L...

haa...ni kisah aku baru menjejakkan kaki ke tanah seberang ni (peninsula m'sia)..baru je sampai sini aku dah berpaluang untuk menjelajah k.L..bukan kebun lada tau...it's Kuala Lumpur..hehe..


this is the picture of me with my friends while we are waiting for KTM at batu 3...we wait about 10 minutes..it's scary you know..ni kali pertama aku lihat landasan kereta api..aku jadi gerum..huhu..horror...ngeee...

bayangkan la bagaimana keadaan orang yang kena gilis dengan kereta api...huhu...menggerunkan....

haaa...ni kitorang baru je dah lepas dari kL Central..hehe..excited giler yooo...aku bagaikan ayam salah masuk reban bila sampai kat kL Central..dari situ kitorang guna komuter nak ke Berjaya Times Square..yang menggelikan,bila aku berjalan memandang semua bangunan yang tinggi tu,tetibe je aku terlanggar tiang..haha..malunyeeeee...sungguh dasyat..hehe..nasib baik aku tak jatuh begedup macam nangka bucuk..haha..

well..those are our activities while at BTS..huhu..so the sakai and excited...so ashamed of ourself..but we'd enjoyed the time together..hehe..

ni pulak antara gelagat kami sementara menunggu cukup jam masuk panggung tengok wayang..kitorang tengok citer "The Public Anemy"..

haa....ni lagi satu peristiwa yang meng'ashamed'kan..haha..kitorang tersesat..tak tau tingkat wayang kat mane..alamak..kecoh satu lif sebab kitorang..memang moment yang giler la time ni..haha..

dah penat menjelajah,kitorang pun minta diri dulu...tapi kitorang belom habis round semua port dalam BTS tu tau..besar sangat la..tak dapat nak habis dalam satu hari..huhu..bergambar sakan before balik..kenangan la katakan...harith : oit..dah la tu..aku dah lapar ni..jom aa gi makan..

adi : letih la..aku sandar kat ko la harith..huhu..

ni la ragam kitorang bila dah sampai kat komuter terakhir...masing-masing dah penat..tapi masih bertenaga nak posing lagi..ish..ish..ish..ni la ragam anak-anak muda sekarang..

dah desperate sangat,kitorang landing kat port mamak ni..we try their roti canai..hehe..sebenarnya masing-masing dah takda duit,sebab tu la makan roti canai je..haha..kat sini satu lagi moment yang memalukan..

chepol : abang,minta diskaun boleh tak...???saye ni student la bang..takde duit..boleh la bang ek..

hampeehh...tu la ragam kitorang..hehe..lepas tu kitorang balik ke kL Central and go home..bukan setakat tu je..dalam KTM pun kitorang buat hal..haha..

my culture..the ibanese..

this is me wearing the iban traditional costume..hehe..this is during the Gawai Dinner at Betong (2008)..this costume called "ngepan iban" which is only for a lady/girl..from head to toe,there is "sugu tinggi" that i wear at my head..at my shoulder,there is "marik empang" which is can be made with a different pattern..at my arm,we called it "tumpa" which is can be use more or less depend on the person..hehe..i always used more than 10 pairs at both side of my arms..the things that i hold at my hands are "buah pauh"..the things that hanging at my waist are "rawai", "lampit",which is same as belt.."tating" was made by coins.."kain selampai" which is like a shawl but sometime it has a round small bell called "gerunung"..the woven that i wear called "kain tating" which also can be made with a different pattern..the "ngepan" that i used was still not complete because there are more that i didn't wear..this is the simple "ngepan iban" that i wear..


this is a sword that was made by my beloved grandfather..this sword's name is "Langgai Tingngang"..i dont know what it's mean..hehe..the sword's hair (hehe) made from "bulu iku chapi"..means the fur of buffalo's tail..hehe..it's more like human's hair..haha..this is one of my grandfather's collections..there is more..wait and see k..


this is my beloved grandfather who is making "piring"..he made the "piring" to give a meal for the spirit..i don't know about the spirit..hehe..there are a lot of different things to make a "piring"..such as "asi ketupat,telur,kuih penganan,sagun" even the popcorn,which is we called it "letup"..also "buah pinang,daun sirih,semakau (tobacco)..hehe..

this is my great beloved "aki" (grandfather)..he is an ex-chancellor also ex-"tuai rumah" of my long house..im proud to announce his name is Banyi ak Layong..he has a lot of talents & knowledges..wow..hehe..most of my friends who often saw this picture said that im a sweet grandfather's grand daughter..because i have a similar look with my grandfather..hehe..waseeehhh...but it's true..just see it by yourself...im so proud to be my grandfather's descent..hehe...the girl who next to my grandfather is my cousin,Barbara Ranut..

this is my sweet "inik" (grandmother)..her name is Kuni ak Ikom..my friends also said that my face also similar to my nenek..wwooo...that's mean im a beloved grand daughter...but it's true..hehe..my grandparents love me more...

this sword and "sangkuh" (spear) belong to my aunty..it also made by my grandfather..wwooo...so creative hah..there's also a blowpipe but i didn't took its picture..

and here we are...those are belong to our family..each of this was made by my grandfaher for each of us..those are half of his collections...wwoooo...hehe...there are more...hehe...but he already gave it to our relatives...

the skulls...wwooo.....i didn't know the skulls are belong to whom..hehe..but i think they died with a thriller way like a resident evil movie..or final destination movie...or else..ngeeee....so horror...the skulls become black because sometime they "salai" (grill) the skulls...this skulls are about more than i don't know how much often the descents...soooooo lama sudah....hehe..

this is the view of my long house..Rh Uyok,Merunjau,Ulu padeh,Betong,Sarawak..this area we called it "ruai"...we will decorate the "ruai" to celebrate the ceremony...

friends..

with my classmate at my college..(diploma medical laboratory technologist 2006-2009)..miss you all..nice to know and share everything with you all..hope someday we will meet again..

my crazy & full of weird hobbies 5 science (2005) classmates....we had shared a lot of memories that i'll never ever forget till the end of my life..you all are my best friends..miss you guys so much..hope to meet you all at our reunion on year 2015..see you all there..

do you have a friend?? alot of friends?? me too.. i have a lot of friends with a lot of characters..i have a lot of friends from all around Malaysia.. from Sabah till peninsula Malaysia.. do you have 1 or more true friends?? mine maybe not..but maybe yes.. we are all human being.. once we being friends but then we will being an anemy to each other.. but a better friendship will start with anemy.. i mean arguement.. without an arguement,you will never know your friend much better.. friends are like an ocean's flow.. sometimes they on but sometimes they off.. there are many of friend's adages.. some are bad and some are good adages.. but friendship will be everlasting if we always appreciate it.. while we can still hug & smile to each other then we must keep in touch with others.. it's not difficult to keep in touch with friends.. it's just a simple job to do as a friend.. but why some of my friends are very difficult to still in on mode with the others?? i have a few friends that just take an advantages of me.. while they are in diffucult moment,im the one who they will search first.. im a kinda heart person.. i can be a good listener,a good advicer also a good friend to anyone.. but then,when it's my turn to need a friend they all just disappear.. sometimes it's make me hurt.. because,at the moment i need a friends,they just ignore me or sometimes they just care without much enthusiasm.. but when im in a happy and full of luxuries then they will come over to fix with me.. what kind of friend is that.. im not a person who is hoping a reciprocations for my kindness.. but as long as they will never leave me just like that,it's enough for me.. as long as they will be my friends forever.. is it difficult?? just answer for yourself.. but for me,friends are neccesary.. anywhere you go and in what condition,you must need a friend although just a friend.. friends are full of memories.. while we are being together having fun,having a victory in spite of sadness also we can share with each other.. i had experience a lot of friends.. i know much better now about friendship.. and i will appriciate all my friends eventhough they didn't realize about me anymore.. friends are mean to me..to all my friends,i love you all so much..i hope we will meet again soon.. i miss all the memories we had shared together..
